This staffing model provides an interactive dashboard, efficient analysis of data, and visualizations that will significantly improve police executives’ ability to understand and demonstrate their staffing needs to city officials and the community.

  • We will analyze calls for service to determine the frequency and time spent handling types of calls.

  • We will work with you to identify the administrative time demands on officers like training, report filing, attending court dates, scheduled days off, vacation, and sick days to calculate a relief factor.

  • You can set several factors based on policy decisions, such as time spent in community engagement and proactive policing activities.

  • We will work with you to identify calls for service that could be handled in alternative ways, such as through telephone or electronic reporting or non-police response and show you the staffing impact of such alternatives.  

  • You will have staffing levels based on an ‘as is’ baseline, which assumes that the work demands will remain constant, and a ‘could be’ staffing based on different policy decisions and responses to calls for service.

  • We are leaving with you the interactive dashboard model built on your data and the capability to use the dashboard to test future policy options and workload demands.
